Frequently Asked Questions
What is the benefit of using The Well-Baby PT instead of a larger clinic?

First of all, we only see infants! This means that we can focus all of our continuing education and research on babies like yours.
With The Well-Baby PT, you get to have a clinician come right to your home. This not only avoids the hassle of taking your baby to a clinic, it also allows the therapist to treat your baby in their natural environment.
As a small private practice, we are very much invested in you and your baby. We encourage families to reach out whenever they have questions, need extra support, or want to celebrate their baby's latest accomplishment. We also value collaborating with your baby's team of healthcare professionals so that we can work together to get the best possible outcomes.

What does it mean that Well-Baby Therapy is not in-network with insurance companies?

This means that we are not an in-network provider, so families pay us directly for our ervices. If requested, we can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement at out-of-network rates. If you are unsure about your out-of-network rates, contact your insurance company and ask directly.

Why do you not accept insurance for physical therapy?

Being out-of-network allows us to focus entirely on providing high quality, individualized care in the home without adhering to the limits of what insurance companies place on providers and patients. We are able to provide services based on the clinical opinion of the therapist and family preferences rather than trying to comply with arbitrary timelines set by insurance companies.

Do I need a physician's referral to schedule an initial evaluation?

No, Tennessee allows patients to have direct access to physical therapy providers for their first visit. If we decide your baby needs PT, then we will need to get a referral from your doctor within 30 days of initiating treatment.

Can I use my HSA card?
Yes! Physical therapy is a medical service. We accept HSA cards.
